Nous Sommes Arrivee - by Jenni

This is the view from our apartment window. It was worth the climb - five flights up. There is an elevator - a very very small elevator. Some of us will be climbing the stairs!

We're staying in le Marais, near the Seine and Notre Dame and, as you can see, the Centre Pompidou. I made the radical decision to leave my laptop at home, so I'm posting from my iPad and I haven't figured out how to add links from this software - my apologies. When we visit the Centre Pompidou, I'll tell you more about it.

The trip over went very well. Everything was on time or early, we were actually comfortable on the airplane and I slept a bit on the second leg, from Reykjavik to Paris. Icelandair was delightful, and they have a Hot Springs and Northern Lights package for the wintertime...we just got here and I'm already dreaming of another trip!

Emma's napping and I'm sitting here smelling the fresh-baked bread smell coming in the window from the bakery across the street....mmm. After a little while, we'll wake her up and go explore the neighborhood. Pain au chocolat and cafe au lait for breakfast. 

We won't do anything too strenous today. The weather is glorious, so maybe we'll take a ride on the bateau mouches and find a nice park to stroll around. We passed the Jardin Luxembourg on the way to the apartment and Emma's already asked for a visit.
